Darken Bridge to Light

Location: Mount Baker (Lake Washington Blvd). A street running the length of Lake Washington (where the boat races are held) from The University of Washington to the Steward Park area. Use the GPS to find the spot.

Notes and Tips: Best time for photos is in the AM.

Lessons Learned: The proper control of light when bracketing in manual mode is a skill that needs to be learned. I found today that in the 43+ seconds that it take to shoot a set of bracketed images, the area lighting has changed by a half step. With my new technique of shooting 9 images for one HDR, I noted that I did not have to change the settings because of the change in lighting. But I did find that it is important to watch the in camera light meter to make sure I was at the right shutter speed. But not having to touch the camera after every 3 frames assisted in a sharper finial product.
Also shooting right into the sun is a skill as well. I took 18 images, the first set I tossed because the in camera light meter was (like WTF) all over the place because of the waves. The second set I pick a shadow under the pier that yielded a constant for the light meter and gave me more control.
