Fog in the City by UrbanRural-Photo Fog in the City by UrbanRural-Photo
I set out this morning to do some testing of the way I shoot panos. I watched a podcast that told of a better way to assist with the distortion. Shooting panos in portrait is better for the images than in landscape but as you can see from this image I did not listen. LOL. I found that is I shoot with my 18-55mm and keep the length of the pano to 2 image with a 15° turn, I can control the distortion. In any case the fog in the city narrowed my locations down, the only area without heavy fog was the waterfront. Which is cool because I have been looking to reshoot from Bell Street anyway.

This is a true 3 image HDR.

I love this. It expresses the very CROWDEDNESS of humanity...the lights are crowding in, the steam polluting, night pressing, yet with a surreal beauty. It is beautiful. I would have adjusted the blue saturation just a touch, but that's just how I play the game :)

very surreal ! i love everything about it. specially the colors and the softness of the skies gives a great contrast to the sharp looks of the buildings in the background. i really have to learn how to pano's.

Not at all. I have 2 websites that I get the timed weather from and I keep a note dock for each shoot so all I have to do is pull it up and input the info and I am done. Took longer to come up with something to say.

That fog is cool and was a problem in the 3 shoots. Wind change but I worked the blend CS4 does wonders.

I never have seen Seattle so beautifull. Fantástic colors and composition.
Surely the firts light of the morning and the last light of the afternoon are the best for photos. For now I prefer the afternoon light for personal (bed...) reasons...
