First off, i wanted to say thanks for the mention in your journal. i agree that the Guide to Digital Infrared Photography isn't complete, but it's a lot better than most of the IR books out there. I think that it gives you a solid foundation on which to experiment.

Second, I love this shot. I don't really get the sense that it's infrared, but I still love the composition. Well done. :+fav:

No thank you. Because of your work I now have something that will make my brain flex. Trying you figue out the white balance and getting a result like your work and not the red and pink that I have been getting is taxing but I will keep at it. Every faled shot is a get black and white thanks to the book. Oddly enough I find myself going back to this book again and again. You are right this is a great book for a solid foundation.

Great perspective and nicely composed..... the colors =D....the silhouette lacks sharpness, maybe this was on purpose and there is some noise also along this edge also......wonderful image none the less =)

Great eye. I have a lot of testing to do on this. lack of sharpness is due to not being able to see through the filter. Noice is fromof all things the Noise Reduction and the small aperture. I am sure that next time with you pointers and a lot more forethought this will be a lot better. Thanks again and keep the pointers coming.

Your welcome, I have no experence with IR, but I did read somewhere, that you focus first and then screw on the filter =D

I was thinking of that with the focus lock. Now that is an awesome tip thank you for confirming that for me. I will make sure to try that.

stunning...
thats a great infrared picture and so different to the white tree all over DA, please don't misunderstand that I love these common infrareds but I'm so happy to see something totally different.
You should resubmit that under vector art just to see if someone gets a clue that its a photo ;-)
