iSeattle by UrbanRural-Photo iSeattle by UrbanRural-Photo
The Views: Rizal Park offers 90º views over Elliot Bay, the Port of Seattle, I-5, and the southern side of downtown. A funny thing about the angle on downtown, is that the Space Needle is hidden from view. But there is a lovely shot of the Smith Building.

Best time for photos is in the AM.

Lessons Learned: When you time it everything can go right. I'm not sure how to right this one up. I built this pano from 4 images, which are composed of 9 images each shot for HDR. That's right this is a 36 image HDR. My goal this morning was to shoot at another location (Four Columns Park, Downtown) put after getting there and shooting a few frames, I just wasn't feelin it. So I did my back location which was close by.
As I drove to the 2nd location I put a plan together of what had to be done to make sure the images did not come out muddy from the buses passing and shaking the bridge. Well I time it this time, before each set I would look to make sure that there were no buses coming. If there were I would wait for them to pass. There is a 5-10 sec wait for the bridge to stop rumbling. Then off with the new set. Now the only issue I have is the pano is to long for any of the prints.
I am thinking of doing this is a 2 print style. So I will post the whole image here and add links for the left and right side.

Shout Out: I would like to thank 2 people who, unknowingly assisted with this image. :iconredtailhawker: for his pointer on lens correction fixs that really can't be helped & :icon32tsunami: for his pointer on cleaning up the sky with extra layers. You both ROCK!!!!

i can't tell you how many times i've looked at this piece the last couple of days. I haven't commented until now because I feel like i comment on all your work.. and frankly it makes me feel like i'm an effing sully groupie ha ha!!
i do like this one, i think the stitching is impeccable, and i think it is quite sharp considering the exposure. if i had the power to dd, i would put this one in there for sure.

Then by-all-means, proceed, sir!
I can tell that this is a passion for you. I used to have an unstoppable passion for b/w photography when I was in high school and a few years beyond. That was more than half of my life ago! I used to have my own darkroom and everything. I'd even roll my own refillable film canisters and developed the negs, too. I'd buy film by the 100 ft roll through Wolf Camera.
Stay with it, you do awesome work.

Wow, I didn't know you could buy 100 ft rolls.
I do love it. Hope my passion for photography rubs off on my son. LOL

That'd be cool. He'll be educated in it, that's for sure. Don't get frustrated, though, if he doesn't.
