Has anyone done this yet?  As of late I am (this weekend) I am seeing specs of dust in my images.  So, I am reasearching places to clean the CCD and finding nothing.  Being the person that I am I don't want to be without my camera for any length of time.  So i was just wondering if any has done this and can tell me its a snap, don't worry about it just do it and shut up.  As always any help is welcome.

It is a bit but the rick or damaging your camera to what you pay. I am going with paying to have it cleaned from now on.

wow, there are a lot of posts, but I don't want to read them, so here's my two cents :-)

Get an air rocket. Compressed air cans could damage the ccd I hear. I suppose there are cleaning kits or something but I'm far too scared to touch the ccd myself. The air rocket has proven its worth many times, it's also great for blowing dust off the lens.

I bought one of the ear syringe "puffer" things to remove a bit of dust from my Fuji-S2's sensor. I put it in a new "zip-lock" type baggie after use. There is an IR filter over most CCDs so the dust doesn't get into the "pits" on the plate.

Fuji has a downloadable PDF on cleaning. It should apply to yours as well. When using a wipe: remember, ONE wipe per side ONLY and go from one edge to the other.

Also, any damage from cleaning is at your risk.

For now, put the camera to the side until you take it to the shop.
