Location, Location, where you at...

I know it has been a while.  I did a lot of :+fav:s today for features.  The reason being, I wanted to ask all of you a few questions about locations.  How do you select your locations?  If you are anything like me, I research the hell out of a spot and look at possible images that were taken there to get a feel for the best time to go.  Then I go there and shot as much as I can.  Or do you do the drive by?  This is where I am in the car on the way home and I see something that I would like to shoot, make a mental note and return the next day or within that week.  Either way let me know.

Oh by the way, I just got this new software called Expression Web.  Kick ass web editor.  I am working on a true website but I want to see what you are doing.  If you got a website send me the link.  I would love to check it out.
Don’t be shy…

Changing Subjects, here are my pix of your work for my locations theme:

By the way my next feature will be on "Rain".  Seattle is in, what I feel is the most wonderful time of the year, "The Rainy Season".  I will be out with the boots and rain gear shooting and using a lot of the "Rear Curtain" program on my camera.  Not that is old school, does any one know what that is and how it can be used.

Thanks for the feature!

Most of my photos are taken within a 10 mile radius of my home. Except when I go visit family.

You are very welcome.
I shoot where I can as well. Most of my shots are within my drive home.

I usually have my camera with me 24-7 so usually if there is a picture to take that will not take much time, I will just snap a shot really fast. If I feel like taking my time with the area, I will
do it in segments, or come back the next day. There was this tree that looked amazing in all seasons, so I waited and every season and transition season I took a picture of that tree. lol
It made a beautiful peice in the end. :D

I am the same way but I am too lazy to pull out the SLR. So this weekend while holding up in the house I dusted off my old coolpix 8700 and will be shooting with that.

OK. Canon and Nikon are really the best out there but not always easy on the pocket.
