I have been doing some reading and after chatting with the my outstanding Brit photography buddy `photonig I have come to the conclusion that it is time to do some features of my old and new friends. But I just didn't want to go through the galleries and pick stuff that I like and present them here I want to make it a challenge for everyone and at the same time get the creative mojo going. There are no prizes just a healthy photography discussion about your work with other photographers. After all two heads are better then one and more then 2 heads is just a freak'en alien (joke). As I have stated to many of you, I am not on this site to just post images but to learn and share information with others, I love to help.
The book that I have been reading, "The Kodak Workshop Series, The Art of Seeing, A Creative Approach to Photography". It was a cheap find but has some good stuff in it and that stuff is where I am going to pull the challenges from. The idea and challenge was not to pick a subject but a color. The goal is to do one of or all of the following:
-Change the viewer preconceptions of a subject by making color the focus of the capture.
-Make the viewer see things your way by showing the familiar in a different way.
-Play with light (direction, quality & color), shadow, create a mood, mute colors, find harmonic colors.
-Show the fragments or whole of a image if you feel it communicates your point photographically.
You get the idea, use everything within your power.
I know I am giving you this info late but I want to see what my awesome friends can come up with. I will do my best to post a new challenge every week of a different, "hue" (that's an off color joke). The rules are these: 1st rule: Don't talk about fight club 2nd rule: Don't talk about fight club and the 3rd rule: if this is your 1st time you have to fight. Sorry there are no rules, everything is welcome and can submit. How do I submit you may ask. Well just note me a link of the image you think fits the bill (one link per person per week) with the color of the week in the subject line and I will post. The goal is to get others help, talking, meet and create a friendly photo-environment. If you have suggestions, send them, If you have pointers, send them too. But for now I have to go and shoot more colors of the week.
